Players have until Noon on Thursday (March 19) to make your "Upfront" picks in hopes of winning up to a million dollars in the NewsChannel 9 March Mayhem Challenge.

There are two different ways you can play. You can make your picks in the NCAA March Madness Brackets round-by-round... and you can make all of your 64 picks "upfront." But to use that option, you have until Noon Thursday. Afterwards Upfront picks will no longer be accepted.

Everybody loves making their picks for their favorites of the 64 teams that qualify for the NCAA March Madness Tournament. That's exactly what you do in the NewsChannel 9 March Mayhem Challenge, except you can win stuff. Make a "perfect" pick and it's good for $1 Million. You could win $10,000 if you only miss one or two games. And, you could win $1,000 if you only miss three games.

After you register you can select all of your favorite teams in advance, or you can make your picks round-by-round... or do both.

In the Round-by-Round competition, just pick the winner for each game up to 20 minutes before it is scheduled to start. If you don't pick in time the computer will select the most picked team for you. So, instead of predicting the entire tournament before it happens you get to pick the winner of each game as it goes along.

Are there prizes?

Yes! You could win $1,000,000 if you pick all of the games correctly. You could win $10,000 if you only miss one or two games. And, you could win $1,000 if you only miss three games. For more details (including how ties are broken) see our rules page.

Additionally, the national grand prize for the player with the highest score is a 16GB iPod Touch sponsored by Upickem and a Presidents Series Watch sponsored by Game Time Shop.

It doesn't cost a dime... it's fun... and you can win stuff. You can even play with a "private group" of friends and family? After you register and log in, just click on "My Private Groups" which will appear in the upper-left hand corner of the page. After that page loads, click on "Create a Private Group" and follow the instructions.
