Well today i took my boat over to James. I had just bought it a little over a month ago and thought i may have some major issues with my compression being way different on each side. James hooked it up and done another compression test and a leak down test and thank goodness told me i didnt have anything other than maybe a carbon build up problem and to run some cleaner thru it. Man he sure eased my mind a bunch. I truely see why everyone on here uses him. He is a great guy and very freindly. He is also very knowledgable as i learned alot in the hour and a half i was there. He has diffinately earned a new customer from here on out. Thanks again James and i will be getting back you very soon on the other things we talked about

When you bring it back for the other stuff we will do the test again and see if the cleaners and replacement of the T-stats are helping. Going to post so we can"remember" what they were.See you then!! emoToast emoToast emoToast

Concern was the higher compressions on port side of the engine. After doing a compression AND a leakage test, we determined that the reason for the high leakage and higher compression is carbon build up from a bad thermostat causing the engine not to "heat" up and control the carbon build up. The carbon builds up on top of the piston and increased compression because of the decrease in combustion chamber volume. This is the same result as shaving the heads.

Good leakage is 10% or less. I think we have caught it in time to reverse it with cleaners. Time will tell!!!
