I know this topic has been brought up before but I'm hoping to get some more input. I'm looking for opinions and comparisons on map data cards.

I recently bought a Lowrance 522c and a Navionics Eastern Region HotMaps Premium data card. The mapping card has Tn but not Ga and Al. I Need Ga and Al, so it's another $150 for the South Region. I also plan on updating the sonar on the console with another Lowrance that will use the same kind of mapping cards. That's 2 more cards for a total of 4 cards at $600 bucks.

Fishing Hot Spots Pro offers Tn,Ga,and Al all on one map data card. They are around $99 bucks and that would save me a lot of cash.

I need to know how these two brands compare, especially in lake detail and underwater structure.

Thanks!

I bought the new card from a member on the forum and so far can't get the darn thing to work in my 520. I can't get it to show contour lines like my other FHS-E shows. I'm gonna try it one more time and get Lowrance on the phone when I do and see if there is some small setting I am missing or what. I'll keep you posted.

I have the fishing hot spots pro east card and so far I love it. Have not got to use a lot, but so far I am very happy with it. I've never used the others so dont know how they will compare.

You can get the Fishing Hotspots Pro, which now includes Alabama, for around $56 from the twistergroup.

I personally like the FHS Pro better than the Navionics because the Navionics, by design, limit your effective zoom range on the GPS.

Tndoe, check your map catagories drawn option and be sure contours are checked. Also make sure under map data that the detail is set to high and Lowrance is selected.
