Some of you have met my good friend Martin who has come down here for the past several years every Fall and Spring. He is in the Smith Mountain Bass Club up in Roanoke VA. He had a tournament this past weekend I believe he said on Lake Moomaw. It had a lot of standing trees along the bank. He was fishing in it and decided to try a crank bait along the edge of the trees. He was worried he might get hung up on the trees but took his chances. He was going to town throwing that crank in the bushes and trees hitting all kind of wood. He told me he was thinking how great that square bill was coming through all of that stuff. A couple times he thought he had a hit but nothing was there.
Finally after fishing it for a while he was in disbelief he had not hung it up yet. Looking at his bait for the first real time since he had started fishing it he was blown away that there were no hooks!!! emoBang Just like so many other upper aged guys he had the night before went to change out the hooks on that bait, took the hooks off, got distracted and forgot he had not done it. emoRedface Yep, it really works greats going through those bushes, logs and trees when there are no hooks on it. emoLaugh Not to mention you don't have to bother reeling in those nasty green fish that don't get hooked either. emoLaugh Jmax
