Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Secretary John R. Griffin pursuant to 08.02.05.13 announces the 2009 commercial weakfish season and restrictions. The Atlantic weakfish fishery for gill nets and other gears, except trawl nets, will open at 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2009 and continue to 12:00 p.m. midnight, Saturday, April 25, 2009. This fishery for gill nets and other gears will reopen at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 and continue to 12:00 midnight, Saturday, November 14, 2009. A licensee using gill nets and other gears in theAtlantic may not catch or land weakfish on Sundays during these open seasons.</p>
