Went to Walmart to buy a battery this morning and found that they no longer have a free replacement policy only a prorated warranty.

emoScratch emoScratch I am lost? There is a 18 month free replacement on most marine batteries they sell as long as you have the receipt. If you do not have the receipt they go by the ship date on the battery. I just had a Maxx car battery replaced last week that was 2 year and 8 months old for free. That one has a three year free replacement. They checked it, it was bad and they replaced it for free no questions asked. emoScratch Maybe you got hold of one of their great helpers that have no idea what the heck is going on. emoRolleyes Jmax

It was the department manager. I asked because the warranty info was not written on the battery. He said the only warranty was on the auto batteries, the marine and lawnmower batteries were now strictly prorated.

I went by the Wal-Mart in Ooltewah and all the Marine Maxx batteries there still have the three your free replacement on them. emoScratch It may be the new ones will change when they sell out of the older one but right now you can still get the maxx and everstart with free replacement for three and two years. emoRolleyes Jmax

I have used them for 6 years now and never had a 3 year warranty 2 year replacement. Mine have always had a 2 yr with a 18 month free replacement. emoScratch

I just happened to be near BATTERIES PLUS on Gunbarrel Rd. yesterday and dropped in to check on a cranking battery. They have one made by Deka (although it has a different name on the battery) that is on sale for $59 and it has 800 CCA, the warranty is 12/24 with 12 mo. free repl. and I suppose 24 pro-rated. Just FYI.
