Mayfly hatch

I wonder the same thing. I don't think there has been any significant hatches yet. We usually have to have some consecutive 90 degree days but it should be getting close. Often we have large hatches around July 4th. I love fishing the hatches -- lots of action, just the thing for kids. Just throw a worm or cricket set under a float around a tree with an active hatch and the kids can catch bluegill on every cast! I've caught some nice bass that were hanging around a hatch as well.

I was out Saturday morning June 17 just for a little while. Fishing is so tough, at least for me right now that I don't even have a legitimate fishing report. Water temp was 77-79, clarity was very good. Problem was fish were hard to come by. I did see evidence of willow fly hatches and actually came upon a boat house that was covered up with them so they are hatching out now! It was kind of strange that the bluegill were not feeding around the boat house. There were a ton of bugs in the water and all around.
