I caught a five pound fish today on nickajack and I think it's a hybrid. It has a tooth patch on the tongue but looks like a non-barred smallie. Any info on this anybody. I'll post some pictures soon.

Does anyone know a fisheries biologist that can look at this fish . It's the only one that I've kept ever and I only did so because of thinking that it was a hybrid and was sterile. To be honest , I've never looked very close at a smallmouths tongue. What's the record for a hybrid , That 7 -10 on the site looks just like the one I caught.
</p>rsimms - 1/8/2007 8:13 PMTry sending an e-mail to [email protected] (Mike Jolley) and see if he's interested. The only sure fire way to determine is via DNA analysis and of course there is a cost involved. I have no idea if Mike would be interested enough for the state to foot the bill or not. They probably would not unless there is a potential "record" involved. They'd have every CFF member requested DNA analysis if they did. emoBigsmile But he might help you out if you're willing to pay. No, I do not know what it costs.bass15 - 1/8/2007 6:51 PM Does anyone know a fisheries biologist that can look at this fish .
