I guess we need to schedule one more meeting to make sure we have all the rules in place. (or we can do it here) Dosent matter to me...

We're seeing some interest in this Trail and I would love to have the rules up SOON so we can make sure every question that gets generated is answered.

I'll be talking with Mike at First Light this week on a banner with local and a few regional sponsors. Hopefully, they will be donating the CFF Point Leader Trophies too.

So...what we gonna do here fellers? Meet or shall I give ya'll a link to the rules in Word Format so we can discuss?

If ya'll schedule when i can make it then I'll definately come. If not I'll submit all comments/questions in writing. Sounds great...

2009 CFF Tournament Rules / Qualifications / General Info

Rules are set and will remain unchanged for the CFF 2009 Tournament Trail
Any protest shall be submitted to all present tournament committee members within 5 minutes after “last call” at weighin.

• 150 Post counts PER BOAT

• Once a guest fishes a TX with a qualified "member", he/she then gets Two (2) free passes for future TX’s, giving them the opportunity to reach the 150 post minimum. If that guest fails to reach the 150 post minimum by the time they use both passes, then they may not participate until they get their post count up, or find another "member" to fish with.

Further Explanation:
Qualified Member - Any CFF member who has accumulated a minimum of 150 posts in any category at time of sign-up.

Qualified Team - Any team consisting of a minimum of 150 posts in any combination between the two anglers.

Exception - "Two pass Rule"

Each team participating in any 2009 CFF Bass TX shall have a total of 150 CFF posts in any combination between the two anglers. This can consist of one member with 150 posts and a guest with 0 posts. Additionally, any CFF member lacking 150 posts ("NON-Qualified member") will be allowed to participate by using one of two free passes. This means that a member with less 150 posts may fish two TX’s with another non-qualified member or guest. Both non-qualified members and/or guest will have used their free passes. The "non-qualified members will be encouraged to enjoy the fun and fellowship and contribute back to CFF by posting and the guest will be encouraged to join and contribute. So, as for as walk-ups, they must only show their screen name, real name and ID.
A guest can fish all 10 Txs with a "member" if he or she so desires. That will not be condoned. However, it may not be encouraged either.

• No Live Bait, No Trolling, No Locking Through

• Tokens will be given at the ramp, before blast off. In case of too many boats, we will use the tokens for blast off orders.

• Official Tournament Time ends at designated time. ZERO tolerance. Token must be in received before the 2 minute "grace" period has passed. A committee member will be present at the dock or ramp to receive your token. 2 minutes past cut off, you’re disqualified. Please be back early enough. **See details below**

• Dead Fish - 1/2 Pound Per dead fish. No More Than 2 dead fish can be weighed per boat. If a boat possesses 3 or more dead fish, they will only be allowed to weigh their LIVE fish.

POINTS –
• Points will be given out by each team's total weight. i.e.- 18.42 lbs gives you and your partner 18.42 Points. Points are kept INDIVIDUALLY throughout the year, but you will be given points at each event based on the TEAM TOTAL WEIGHT.
Example:
Joe and John fish the TX and have a total of 18 lbs. They both receive 18 points. Next event Joe and John fish with different partners. Joe and his partner weigh in 20 lbs and John and his partner weigh in 8 pounds. For the last 2 events, Joe has a combined total of 38 points and John has a total of 26 points.

• A year-end point’s champ will be crowned at the Classic, as well as a trophy for the biggest fish of the year.
• Each Angler can drop their lowest weight total throughout the year. Only ONE Tx can be dropped.

CLASSIC –
• The year end Classic will have Double Entry Fees, which also brings a Double Pay Scale.
• To qualify, one must fish AT LEAST 5 out of the 9 regular season events.
• Both anglers have to qualify to fish the Classic
• There will be a Classic Champ, a Points Champ, and a Big Fish Champ awarded at the Classic, AFTER THE WEIGH-IN

SPECIES –
• 12" Spats - 15" Greens - 18" Browns
• Brown is Brown. PERIOD. (Will be recognized as a Smallmouth)
• A fish in question will be voted on by all those present at the weigh-in

SAFETY -
- PFD MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN THE BIG MOTOR IS IN OPERATION! NO EXCEPTIONS!!

WEATHER –
• Bad weather will be decided on by committee members present at that particular event.
• In the end, it is a personal decision to fish in bad weather.
• If someone wants to fish, we respect their decision. Same goes for someone who doesn’t want to fish.

DISTANCE-
• 50 yard rule when competing in a CFF tournament. Unless waved over, stay outside a judgment distance of 50 yards.

** Tokens will have to be in committee members hands, before the grace period is over. We may have a committee member sitting at a no wake buoy with a net or can ready to receive your token. They may also be at the dock or ramp. This will be determined before the event. PLEASE ask before we blast OR read the info passed online for the upcoming event **

As usual, please exercise safety, good sportsmanship and most of all, have fun fishing!

Billy thanks for posting the rough draft of rules. I just want to encourage everyone to look 'em over good and post replies and suggestions. Thanks Al

Pointer 78 - 12/11/2008 4:40 PM

Having a vote on a questionable fish invites problems. Brown is brown and a tooth patch qualifies as a spot.

I agree Pointer. I just copied a bunch of this from the last meeting records.

*12"Spot (Green w/ tooth patch)
*15" Large mouth
*18" Small Mouth (tooth patch or not, Brown is Brown!)

Yea, everyone needs to dig in and review these. I really think its time to get the rules up and available to the members.

One quick question to clear the cob-webs....

On the Classic, for both members to qualify, does that mean they each have to have fished 5 of 9, or they each have to meet the 150 post count AND fish 5 of 9?? From my understanding, to qualify means to fish 5 of 9, but I could be in left field on this one. just trying to clear the airways....

Adam, we definitely need to discuss this one. I don't remember ever talking about it and I gave it alot of thought last night and still don't know. Al

They have to fish 5 of 9 no matter what. If they only have 70 post but have rode with someone all year that made the "boat entry" a total of 150 or more, then they are fine...but they will have to team with another quailified boater (5 of 9) for the classic and that boat have a total 150+
Make sense?

Thats what I was thinking Billy....

Fishing 5 of 9 qualifies an individual angler....HOWEVER, if they still dont meet the 150 post minimum, they MUST fish with another angler who puts their count over 150. FREE PASSES DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS THE CLASSIC
