My wife and I got out early before all the jet skis, etc. to fish for a couple of hours for panfish. Nothing much to report other than we caught a few shellcrackers that were left over from the crackerfest 06. There were a couple that I wished that I had caught last Saturday. We had family bbq plans so we quit fishing early.emoAngel emoGeezer

My son and I skipped the heat and seadoos and went fishing last night and had the river to ourselves. There wasn't much moon and it went down early but we had enough light to see. This was the first time he has been out fishing this year with his tough schedule of school, high school baseball and work. We did well and had a great time. Daniel's biggest one was a 4.3 LM caught in 5 ft. of water on a heavy dark spinnerbait. He took a picture with his cell phone to show his friends.

Beautiful picture... you really are a photographer aren't you?

Richard, I've had a lot of practice and I have a vivid imagination. Wished that I could fish that well. I do pretty good on stripers, crappie and panfish. I did my bass fishing in my youth and was as much a zealot as these young fishermen are today. I don't know why I lost interest in bass fishing. I used to fish 12 per day when I was on an off day. Could be burnout.emoScratch emoGeezer

I think the madbomber trained him as far as the photo thing goes.... Dicky, the picture was worth a thousand words. thanks for posting it....

Your picture is outstanding; it conveys images of so many things in life as in fishing. The unknown, the possibilities and the potential of what is out there just beyond that fog bank. Thank you for the picture..

You're welcome, FA. Do you remember the fishing trip that I took you on at Watts Bar lake about 100 years ago? I remember that you lost a big fish in Piney river.emoGeezer

Dickey (DrumKing) has always had an Artist's Eye. I remember all the cartoons he used to draw when we worked together in T-32.

Hey Drumking... I love playing (or working) with Photoshop. I made some minor alterations to your picture. Hope you don't mind me playing.

Hey Fat Albert. Daniel plays for Lakeview-Ft.Oglethorpe, one of his younger brothers is on the JV team. Maybe you have umped some of his games in the past either for his school team or select team (Cannons or Rowdy Boys). Where all do you umpire at?

Hey Clay. Sorry I have not made the last 2 STNA tourney's. I had to work one and my partner cancelled on the other. I have had time to fish a couple with Jmax and fished a BFL. Other than that my youngest son keeps me busy with out of town travel baseball. He is 11 yo. I plan on fishing the Chisnall Spring STNA if my partner can make it, hope to see you there.emoThumbsup

I don't mind that at all Richard. If I knew how to do it, I would have taken the title off the photo myself. I didn't like the color that I chose and it is really a nicer photo just as you have modified it.

Hey DrumKing, Richard also took the front end of your boat out of the picture also. I'm off next week, let's get together and I'll help you with some photo editing software.

I also squared the horizon slightly. It was just a tiny bit off kilter. One thing to remember if ever taking photos on the water... the water line must always be perfectly level in your photo. Water never "slopes," unless you're on the Ocoee. That's your photo tip for the day... no charge. emoBigsmile emoBigsmile
