Just getting a feel for what seems to be the more popular motor for the Tennessee lakes and rivers!

Mercury 250 Optimax ProXS or Yamaha F200LB?

Whether you are a fan of either motor, there is one of each left in stock at Bunch Marine!

They are both solid motors and if I am not mistaken, the blocks are made in the same plant. I think the Mercs are a little cheaper on maintenance and rebuild cost. both are very popular around here

I don’t have much experience with Yamaha, but I currently run a 250 Mercury Optimax ProXS. I have been running Mercury for about 15 years now and have been really happy with the performance and reliability. Good luck in your decision.

Got my first Mercury a year ago since Yamaha could not supply motors for Ranger boats. I've been pleased with it and also pleased with each of the Yamaha's I've owned. Like churly said, parts/maintenance on Mercury seems less than Yamaha. Another thought I see Mercury authorized repair all over where I have been in the US, not as much for Yamaha. Flip a coin...
