Mercury Verado 225.... good motors or bad ?

ok, I am looking at buying a new to me boat. I found a boat that has a Verado 225 on it. are they good , or are they crap? this one has 500+ hours on it , (mostly low rpm scanning) just trying to get an idea on this motor if anyone can give me some info. thanks everyone.

As far as I know, they’re popular with the salt water folks. That’s really all I know though.

Get it plugged into a Mercury computer and analyzed by Tom at Fish N Fun before you buy it. If the current owner does not want you to do this - keep looking.
