Subject : CFF Tx Series and Non-Boaters
Hello,
I guess you are the top dog here or one of them. I wanted to talk about this in private so that people don't get the feathers ruffled and do a bunch of crying.
I know how hard it was to get an open backseat for the CFF Tournaments last year, so hard that I never had the chance to fish a single Tx. I even went as far as driving to a couple of the weight-ins to meet people and put faces with the names as I was new last yr. That still didn't do any good in getting even one invite to fish.
Anyway, I see the current format as a format that encourages a buddy fishing format. That's great in some ways, but in others it's not. To us backseaters who aren't buddies with the good ole' boys here are left out in the cold and not given a chance to fish the series. Some guys do get lucky and get a ride or two. But the more folks fishing also means more friendly competition and also more of what everyone loves.... more money for the top performers each week.
I know it sounds like I'm complaining, I am to a point; but at the same time I'm speaking for the guys left on the bank each month and not fishing the series.
What I'm asking is that the top guys here: You, Pointer 78, Spur Doc, etc could discuss this because there are to many of us backseaters left without rides with the current format being a partner / buddy Tx system. I know that if the guys here that own boats all come out instead of partnering up and leaving a boat at home; More members can have the chance to fish.
One sure fire way to help make sure that happens is to make the format a blind draw series. Boaters bring a boat, draw non-boater name from hat and are partners for the day and non-boaters share expenses for gas and oil. that way no one rides for free.
AND!!! There are no two anglers that pair up that could be considered a stacked deck (ringers so to speak).
Ok so if that doesn't go over well.... Ask if maybe if 2 Tx a yr become blind draw. Anything to allow other anglers to fish a Tx or two.
Thanks for lending an open ear, lol so to say about this. I won't bring it up again, just hoping to make it available to more fishermen and bigger turnouts too.
