messed up 125

well i think my fishing may have just had a halt put on it i believe i have hurt my moter bad she ran out of oil and shut it self down the when i descoverd what had hapend i bought some oil from a fellow fisherman put it in the mixer it started to have a knocking sound or a loud peck it still has plenty of power but dont sound good so it will be in the shop monday to see what the damage is i just hope it can be fixed with out having to buy a new one that will be a lot of money any one had this hape to them if so what was the outcome it is a 04-125-merc any one got a idea as to what the cost will be or what the problem is

Procraft I am not a boat mechanic by any means but if your motor still has plenty of power I would think the problem to not be too severe. You did the right thing by getting it off the water and to a mechanic before it developed major problems.

I have a 2003 125 merc, and it has a low oil warning alarm, Might wanna check yours.

If you don't have warranty left on the motor you should mix your oil manually.

I just sent a post on my 150 Johnson ,this psat week.My motot just shut down ,and lost power.I took it to Joie Potter at Chattanooga Marine and found 1 of the Cylinders was scored from not using it enough,LONG STORY),Joie Sent the head to have it Bored,and hope to have back in a week or two.It's a Shame but it happens .Hope nothing too serious for you.LOL.
