Has anyone ever used Milogranite in their deer food plot? I'm considering giving it a try based on positive studies conducted by UGA. Milogranite is human waste converted to nitrogen fertilizer. The smell is not offensive to humans, however, deer find it offensive and will avoid food plot (hopefully) until established. They say it only lasts about a month...and that is good for obvious reasons. Available at most big box stores. Thanks.

If you have something they want, they will get it. Usually deer won't overbrowse a fall food plot, unless it's a rough year with zero mast production. The only thing I have used was for a bean field. It was a dual perimeter hot wire with a solar charger. Even with that a few deer would take the hit knowing what's on the other side.

I have used it around plots several times. It does work, but completely depends on the amount of rain you get as to how long it works. Every time I’ve used it with normal rain it’s lasted a week in a half to maybe 2. We also would urinate around the field too and that would help a few days as well, lol. Also anything with movement, aluminum pie plates tied to string on post, or old cd’s work well too. Might give you another week if ya do it after the milorginite stops working. What did you plant and how big??

Thanks for the response, I appreciate your input. According to test conducted by QDMA; the Milogranite does not eliminate deer damage, and though its effectiveness dissipates with time, it reduced overall impact compared to untreated plots. Its effectiveness is highly dependent on weather...less effective in dry weather...while rain seems to enhance or reactivate the odor and the repellent effect. I have communicated with Whitetail Institute and while they have not used it in their research, they have received more favorable reviews than negative. I will definitely try some along with scarecrow doused in cheap cologne; pie pans; human hair etc. Lots of deer in Hickman County. I have had good success with Whitetail Institute "Pure Attraction" which is oats, winter peas and brassicas. I have about 3/4 acre food plot.

It's not worth the powder to blow it to hell if you ask me.
And it stinks.
I tried in in Colorado and it did nothing to stop the Mule Deer we had from mowing through my garden and flowers.
