I have a Minnesota Kota Maxxum Pro 101 trolling motor it has that last two times out run then when you depress foot switch nothing. After a few minutes of trying it would start working. Saturday while in the water by the damage it stopped and will not work at all. Does any one have any ideas that may help on where to start replacing parts and the best place to find them reasonable? Any help greatly appreciatef.

Be sure switch is where it should be and check all wires and connections. John Swallows is the man to repair it. He lives in Charleston Tn.
423-336-5438 and 423-413-8294. You'll have to leave a message probably. Good luck.

This is a good place to start: https://northlandmarine.com/pages/minnkotaquickref

They have parts and motor diagrams for the do it yourselfers. A couple of years ago I tried to get in touch with the guy above for a couple of weeks. He must have been on vacation. I finally took mine apart and found a wire burnt in two. I fixed it myself. They really are not that complicated after you get into them.

There's a place down your way that works on them, or did a couple of years ago. They also sold rods reels etc, and may have worked on boats. It's east of I-75 and I think was South of you, but I cannot remember the name. I'll look back at receipts and see if I can find them.

Ok....it's Nutter Rod and Reel service. They are also a Minnkota service center. They are in White Georgia right off of Hwy 411. 5 miles or so East of I-75 .

Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at (770) 386-3978.

I have a 2007 Minnkota Terrova with Ipilot that had a a communication problem between the remote and the motor. They got it fixed. It was the card I believe.

I took it to Mr Nutter in White will let you know what is to get it fixed. There is a $50 bench fee. Will see what problem is and report on it.

Good deal. They'll get 'er going. Of course we know nothing boat related is cheap. Maybe it won't hit your checkbook too hard.

Update: Got the Trolling Motor back today. $56.00 Diagnosis Motor Overheated at the plug because there was corrosion in the plug. Suggested I clean the boat connection too as it will be corroded also. I have never heard of this but for $56 bucks I will be happy and reinstall. Thanks fpor all your input and caring enough to respond to help. I Greatly Appreciate all replies.

That's a good deal. When they worked on mine a couple of years ago, they had checked my plug connection and found some corrosion even though that wasn''t the problem. They had a much higher quality plug for my Terova than the one that came on the boat for around $20 I think it was. I bought it and put it in and have had no problems. Another tip they gave me was to never have my trolling motor plugged in while charging the batteries due to the higher voltage level of the chargers. They had seen cases where they suspected this had damaged the electronics on the control boards over time. Several boats had come in with dead boards and the owners had admitted to leaving their motor's plugged in while charging. I don't know, but I always unplug mine when charging just in case. Glad you got it fixed.

Mine did exactly what yours did it was the switch in the foot control. Ordered one online for around 20 dollars. Been fine since
