Just switched from a 12/24 OMC that was wired to a plug-in that plugged into the dash. I just picked up a 24 volt Minn Kota Edge 65. I was looking over the wiring instructions and they are saying to wire (+) from one battery to (-) to the other battery. There were other details, but I don't remember them. Sure you Minn Kota guys know what I'm talking about
They also recommend buying a 60 amp manual reset circuit breaker.

In my boat I have 2 set of wires coming from the trolling battery, that run to the front of the boat. Obviously coming from the (2) trolling batteries.

I am electrically challenged and I'm gonna get a friend to help with this. What is the easiest way to go about this wiring. Also do I need that circuit breaker???

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give. Seems it would have been easier to wire straight to the plug in and use it again or do I need to wire is straight let the instructions say???

if you have the marinco 4 prong plug in like i have i called a trollingmotor guy and he told me that i should be able to hook the red and black wire the way they are on the male plug just dont put a wire where the white one is now again that is what my plug looks like hope this helps

From battery # 1 " run a wire from the negative side (-) , black in color to your plug in the bow". From battery # 2 " run a wire from the positive side (+) red in color to your Breaker, then to the plug in the bow. Now from battery #1 connect a wire from the (+) side to the (-) side of battery # 2 . Now you have a complete 24VDC system. The way you described your connection, you should already have this set-up. All you need to do is to add the circuit breaker in the system. Unless you had a 3 wire system. If you need help IM me and I will help you out.
