I finally got the opportunity to sit down a do a fishing report. The last several days have been real busy and just some "dang fun" with some fishing on Lake Guntersville. The shallow bite has really turned on and has been the most consistent, and this especially showed in the Rat-L-Trap tournament on Sunday. The most common patterns for the tournament were fish being caught in 1-2 ft. of water on 1/4 oz. traps, floating traps, and Echo crankbaits. This tournament was a tremendous success with over 200 boats and almost 17 lb. to get in the top 40. Congrats goes out to Gill Summerlin and Willie Staten for their win "AGAIN" with over 26 lbs. With my trips on Saturday and today the shallow bite was very consistent with some solid fish on Choo Choo Lures Swimjigs and Shakers fished around shallow grass and stumps. We were also able to catch some good quality fish on Echo crankbaits along grass lines in 3-5 ft. of water. The fishing is great and the numbers are solid. Have some fun! Mike Carter
