I want to start out saying that the new square bill crankbait by Rat-L-Trap, the Echo 1.75 is one great crankbait. I was able to get a few in last week and today we decided to give them a try in a few areas and they really work great. There had been a lot of fish move out on some of the deeper edges of the grass because of the front that had moved through, and the Echo was the ticket for finding them. The wobble and the rattle along with the ability to come through structure and Primrose grass edges was fantastic. If you havn't tried one of these I strongly suggest giving one a try and see for yourself how these baits perform. We also covered a lot of shallow Primrose grass areas using Choo Choo Lures swimjigs and chatterbaits and was able to get a lot of good quality fish, but only had a couple of "Big-uns" to hit and come off. This should be a great couple of weeks coming up with rain, clouds and warmer weather, and this should really turn on the shallow bite. Get out and have fun, Mike Carter.
