Yesterday was an extremely busy day on the water, especially when it consisted of daylight till dark. I started out with a short trip on Nickajack Lake, Tn. at daylight and within 2 hrs. my client and I had caught 25-30 fish. We only made 2 stops to help him with some areas that "might" be holding some fish, well might is an understatement. We wasn't expecting this kind of action but it was "dang" fun. We caught some small to quality size fish on Choo Choo Rocker Jigs and 10" worms. It was an absolute blast and hated to have to quit in just a couple of hours, but it was well worth it. I then went to the "Big G" to see if I could find a few fish for myself before my evening trip. It was a lot tougher than what I had just experienced on Nickajack but I did get into a few fish with a Choo Choo Jig and a 6XD crankbait along some deep ledges. I then had a gentleman show up for the evening trip with his Dad and with the BILLION+ gnats that we had to contend with, the evening bite turned out to be even tougher. These guys were able to put a few fish in the boat with Choo Choo Swimjigs, even though they were not the quality we were looking for they still enjoyed getting to "rib" each other on who caught the most. Like I said yesterday was a LONG day. I had another trip this morning with a couple of gentlemen looking to try and get into a few fish on the Big G, and today was just like yesterday, except maybe a little tougher. We tried swimming Choo Choo Jigs around some scattered grass and could only manage smaller fish. We then went out to some deeper grass and same story with small fish. But at least it was a good sign seeing the amounts of small fish that we have been consistently catching lately. A couple of tough days, well besides the short trip on Nickajack. That lake along with Chickamauga are wide open right now. Get out and have some fun. Mike Carter
