The "Big G" can put you on a high then drop you like a "ton of bricks"! Wednesday I got invited to hang out with the state biologists to do a seining survey on the lake and had a very interesting learning experience with these guys along with a great time. It was great to see first hand what they do and the processes they go through on studying the lake. We will go over the results and discuss what we can do to help the lake stay healthy, and talk about what we have accomplished the last few months at our meeting on June 25th. Yesterday I had a couple of gentlemen that struggled all day to get any decent fish to hit. They were able to catch a few small fish and got to experience the "humbling" side of the "Big G". Today was a little better with a gentleman looking for a few new areas to fish. This was the typical Saturday on Guntersville Lake with traffic of all sorts all over the lake. We still were able to squeeze into a few areas and get a few to bite and got out before too many seen us. We found several aggressive fish up shallow with us using Bull Shads. We then moved out to some deeper grass and caught several more on Choo Choo Jigs. The floating eel grass seems to be getting worse again with a lot of areas choked out to where you just could not fish them effectively. Have fun, Mike Carter
