The last 3 days I've had trips on the Big-G and I felt that after the picture message I received last night this might be a good report to do. Wednesday I had a couple of gentlemen from Georgia that wanted to fun fish and even though we had a great time the fishing was slower than normal. We were still able to catch fish on several different patterns from deep grass to deep ledges, and one of the guys lost a very nice fish that we got to see hit the swimbait but just couldn't keep it on. Thursday I had 2 gentlemen from Kentucky that were here to enjoy a few days on the Big-G and wanted to learn a few patterns and how to navigate the lake since it was there first time here. This was one of those mornings that one of these guys would just choose to forget because of losing "3" big fish, and I do mean very big fish. His partner got first bragging rights with a solid 4# on topwater, and after a few minutes of bragging I think the guy got to feeling sorry for his partner after seeing him lose these fish. We ended up cutting the day short from the storms and hard rain that came through. I told them that the pattern I had showed them would help the both of them to have more chances of getting a "Big-un" the next few days. Last night I got a picture message that the guy finally figured out how to keep the big girls on the hook and was able to land a 9# "HAWG" yesterday evening that I included in this report,"WOW". This morning I had another gentleman from Georgia that wanted to fun fish for a few hours, and when we got started I really thought the fun was starting with a couple of solid 3# fish on a Bull Shad and another couple of good hits on the bait, but after the short flurry of excitement the bite slowed to a crawl. We went to swimming Choo Choo Jigs and 10" worms around some deep grass and was able to get a few small fish but just couldn't get any good quality. The hard rain and storms from yesterday had really slowed these areas down for us today, but still got to catch a few fish and have a great time. Get out and have fun. Mike Carter
