FYI, some guys just showed up on NewsChannel 9's doorstep with three (3) MONSTER cats. All were over 50 lbs., the biggest was 65 lbs. Three of them were jugfishing on Nickajack near old Hales Bar. They'll be on TV in about 20 minutes.... I suspect it'll run again this evening on various shows. By the way, they said they were missing three jugs, possibly with other BIG cats. So if you head for Nickajack, keep an eye out.

Dang it, now we wont be able to run Sat for all the dad burn jugs floatin around!!!!!!!!

I realize its legal to keep those big fish like that but it sure doesnt make you smile about it. I know its their right but still seems like a waste!

I agree with you foodsaver. There are plenty of smaller fish out there just right for fillets. Lets keep these Trophy fish in the river so we can all enjoy them. The have earned the right to be released!!!!

Here's a good one for ya'll. Last month when I was working in MO the mill owner brought in a picture of a 91 pound blue cat caught in the Mississippi River about 15 miles from where I was working. The pic of the fish was in the back of a pickup truck. I asked what the guy did with the fish and the owner asked me "what do you mean, he fileted it of course." He then commensed to telling me that they have catfish tournaments out there on a regular basis and the weigh ins are way up in the hundreds of pounds. Nobody releases their catch, they clean the fish no matter what size they are.
I know this makes many cringe as it does me but they say it never has affected the catfish population out there. They have been doing it for years.
