My inlaws are camping at moons slough this weekend so the family and I went up today after church to eat some burgers and hang out a little while. While I was there I ended up helping a guy put a prop on his boat and while there at the dock noticed some kids fishing and they had a stringer full of bluegills and crappie.they had around 60 fish on a stringer!!! So I decided to borrow the guys fishing poles that I helped with his boat...got some night crawlers and went down to the bluff with my girls...and we caught about 15 bluegills in about 40 minutes. AND YOU GUYS THOUGHT ALL I DID WAS CATFISHING!!!!emoLaugh Sorry No pics. Didnt take the camera as I wasnt planning on fishing todayemoBang I did get to see some quality entertainment as a couple of good ole boys that had been boozin it up climbed into a small aluminum boat....cranked on it for about 10 minutes .....finally got it started....headed out...dead centered a stump..... sheared the pin on their motor and proceeded to say every word in the book and some that arent. Then they almost turned the boat over tryin to change out the pin with it still in the water.....as they had forgot to take a paddle with them. It was very entertaining and educationalemoLaugh emoLaugh ... It was very nice outside today and it looks like alot of people are on the fish by all the fishing reports today. Hope to get back out next weekend but I doubt that I will as I will be having a tooth surgically removed FridayemoDoh

We used to camp there when I was a kid. I can remember killing bluegill/shellcracker on the rocks/bluff in front of the camp ground. Back then the entire slough would cover with grass.

DHAUN if I remember right ,moon slough is the first slough

past the big island and past the rock bluff on the right side

of river going up stream. maybe 3-4 miles up river from highway 60

bridge.
