More Chick. river crappie 3-23-07

Took my wife out this afternoon. We caught 29 with 15 keepers. The biggest was a female that was 1.9 lbs. Slip floats and minnows fished 3-4 ft deep in 10-12 ft water. Shady docks and structure. Water was 62.7 just before dark upriver by sale creek. She also caught a blacknose crappie and we released it. 1 sm, 4 bluegills and 1 lm also. Those 15 fish weighed 15.1 lbs.

Great looking fish, Steve. I'm glad that you are still finding them in the river. I haven't been out there in over a week due to "boat in shop" syndrome. I have moved to the coves for the time being. 2 more weeks of Crappie fishing for me and then it's on to the "crackers". TT and I are fishing in the crackerfest this year.
