Let's put our collective heads together and get a good schedule together and get more tournaments this year. Last year started out well, but fizzled in early summer. It all starts February on Guntersville!! These tournaments have been more about fun than the actual competition. That's what I like about them!

I'll fish em if they fall on my off Saturdays. I usually don't fish tournaments, but I don't mind donating to all of you goons. emoLaugh

I would like to have one on the Nick when the spawn gets going. I'll be interested to see what you guys come up with. emoThumbsup

Nickajack in the spring is a "must have" tournament. Had a good one down there last spring, it was a fun one!

Make sure ya got a fast boat for Nick....Bennet's lake is wall to wall boats in the spring emoBigsmile

I'd be happy to make some donations this year too !

What's the entry fee for these tournaments? Drop me a PM with the information and I will see which ones I can fish.

You guys should put your heads together and just post an entire tentative trail for this year with some basic guidelines...You could call it the "Family Tradition Trail". emoSmile

What about putting a Tx together: Feb - Guntersville, Mar - Chick, Apr - Nick, May - Weiss.

I'd love to do a Wheeler tx, but I don't know how many would make it down.

If this schedule gets established I'd love to try and fish 'em all.

I would like to set a schedule, but would need to know there would be at least 10 boats for each tournament. We could set a schedule around the CBA, and other bigger tournaments, so more of us goons would be able to participate. Keep all the normal rules and fees.

I'm all for a trail series here. Flip and I are fishing the USA Bassin but theres only a few Txes there.

I'm willing to throw my help in on this anyway I can.

Cool, I have some ideas. When I get some time later this evening I'll write them out and you all can let me know what you think. The sole purpose of the trail ( in my eyes) is more for all of us to hang out and have fun, and for a few to at least get some gas money back out of it. Keep the money low and the fellowship high.emoThumbsup

This sounds like a great Tx "trail" for rookies like me. I'm in it to learn, not so much the money...I'll donate...but I'll do my best to fish 'em all!

Count me in as a regular!

Just throw the idea here in this thread. Then we all can see what ideas are being kicked around.

I'd like to see a tournament at Tims Ford Lake... how far is TFL from Chattanooga... I'd love to have one on Wheeler, but that is getting 2-2.5 hours from Chattanooga.

Dhaun, I love the "Family Traditions Trail" name and idea...

[*]Feb - Upper Guntersville (Mud)[*]Mar - Chick (?)[*]Apr - Nickajack (Shellmound)[*]May - Weiss (Canal?)... Guntersville?.... Wheeler??? (just some Alabama lake)[*]Jun - Watts Bar (Dam, Tom Fuller?)[*]Jul - Tims Ford Night? (Devil's Step)[*]Aug - Chick Night (?)[/list]

OK, here some of my thoughts. I like The season starting in Febuary on Guntersville! So we'll start there. Have one a month into May. Now into the hot summer ( June ,July, August) I think we should have at least 1 night tournament and for the day tournaments, make them shorter. More like dogfights. maybe 6am-11am and cut the cost in half per team. Also help with the bass being stuck in a livewell all day. Now as for the fall fishing( September and October) , we obviously need to fish some froggies on top of some grass ( Nickajack and Guntersville). So that leaves November and December. I think we should end the season in December.
Ok, I know I didn't put a schudule down, but I want everyones input on that. I do want to make one of the tournaments open to the public and make it a "charity event". Up the boat fees and try to get some freebies for givaways and really pump it up and get some cash flowing!! Let me know what everyone thinks and we will go from here.

Here's where I'm at right now. This very tentative!!

Feb-Guntersville ( Mudd Creek)
March- Nickajack- ( Shellmound)
April-Chickamauga-(Chesterfrost, and if we can make this our charity tourny)
May-?
June- Chickamauga-( Night, launch from harrison bay)
July-Nickajack( dogfight, 6am-11am)
August-Chickamauga( dogfight,6am-11am)
September-?
October-Guntersville (Mid lake somewhere)
November-Nickajack( Shellmound)
December-Chickamauga( Chesterfrost)

OK, now I would like to schedule around all the big tournaments . So that will take time to figure out. We can cancel any of the tournaments if participation is minimal. As long as we get 10 boats in each tournament we'll have one. I would really like to keep it in those 3 lakes, but maybe we can throw in a Weiss. Gass is getting really expensive so we don't need to travel way out of the way. Please everyone chime in, and let's get some dates up and go from there. Remember this is a contributors only trail ( except for the charity event), that means at least 2 fishing reports ( only one person has to be a contributor). It's all for bragging right, small money and big laughs!! Everyone is welcome to chime in.emoAngel
