If a liberal says they support our second ammendment right you better be rolling up your pants. Better yet get some chest waders or better than that get a boat and a gas mask. This guy is a POTUS minus the T and the U.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I am curious to hear the posters above me thoughts on how blocking foreign importation of guns "infringed" the right to bear Arms? Considering that you can still buy a variety of guns at Wart-Mall, what exactly is the issue? Also it is unclear if Obama has other plans for those guns. Seems to me that they could be put to good use, for say, the police force in Afghanistan.

Obviously you did not read the article. These guns in question are original US made weapons for the Korean war. They are classified as curios or relics. These WWII and Korean war rifles are rarely if ever used by gang bangers or other criminals. They are also in high demand by law abiding United States Citizens. The issue is the rediculous reasoning given by the olbummer administration for blocking the importation of these rifles. The issue is the fact that the only reason they are blocking this importation is because they can. Thus depriving the LAW ABIDING US citizen from LEGALLY purchasing the rifles from the government run Civilian Marksmanship Program. ANY steps taken by the government to stop or slow down the LEGAL possession of firearms by US citizens is an infringement on our second ammendment right.

The exact same reason you wont admit just one, little, tiny, iota of a screwup that Obummer has made, your afraid it might lead to an avalanch. Dont believe me, put your Google fingers to good use and check out how firearms were banned in the UK and Austrailia.

Read it twice, NO where does the article say that the guns are original US made weapons or US surplus. The term used is "South Korean surplus" and "efforts of South Korean government". Seems to me to be a trade issue, not a 2nd amendment right issue.

I could care less what other countries gun laws are or are not, I don't live there. Further, I don't believe the issues they have in other countries are necessarily applicable to the US with our strong 2nd amendment rights. The only one I that might interest me, is Canada as I might go hunt there one day.

buzz - 8/19/2010 9:03 PM Wal-mart sell anything besides muzzle-loaders anymore? Just asking.

Political pressure has them phasing out guns in almost every store. Give it another year or two, none will carry anything.

emoScratch emoScratch You want Euro-style socialism, but when it comes to gun rights you dont want to look to see what has happened? Wow.

You want Euro-style socialism
Where is this characterization coming from, on what basis is this based on?

As far as "european" gun rights, I don't think it a comparable situation. They don't have any any legal rights on gun possession (at least on a nationalistic scale) while we have the 2nd amendment.

The article does not have to say that the guns were US made weapons. Anybody that knows anything about Korean war era M1 rifles knows that they were only made in the USA. I never said they were US surplus. They are not. They were rifles made and sent to the Korean war front by the United States. The Koreans want to sell them back to us like selling any other product. Your hero and his cronies are blocking it for no GOOD reason whatsoever. I want one of these rifles so therefore my right is being infringed upon.
