I have had some on here not want to know and others ask me what I have seen lately. For those who ask and want to know I thought I would mentions some recent homes I have gone to that were hit ....
1-Went to a home this past Friday where the owner had just built the home. Smaller home kind of a condo format. It is downtown so I am not too big on his choice of location. He had the home built and oversaw it himself. He had me come over to the home and quote him an alarm system which we installed yesterday. He was very concerned about everything and I asked him had he been broke into before. He informed me that while the home was being built the guys that were doing the work had locked their stuff in the home. During one of those times when they did this they returned the next day to find the home broke into and all their tools worth anything were gone. emoBang He told me right then he was getting an alarm since he felt if he did not that they would break in once he moved in.
2-Just went to a home Monday in East Ridge where a very nice home, two story, finished basement, the people there had lived there for years and had never had a problem. Kids are grown and no longer live there, both he and his wife work. He returned home to find his back door on the upper porch kicked in and several items stolen. Including a large flat screen TV. He felt they had to of had a truck drive up to the back of his home and load it up. emoAngry No one had seen a thing. His most costly replacement he said was the door and frame which had been totally destroyed. He had insurance but the deductible was more then the alarm quote. His insurance told him he needed to get an alarm.
3-Went to a home in North Chattanooga. The young girl there had just recently bought this home and her and a friend had just recently moved in. They had not been there a week when a man telling her he was an ADT alarm rep came to her door and asked to come in. She told him, no, she was not interested and he was very pushy. He asked her several questions and one was, "Did she have an alarm?" She told him she was thinking about it but had not made up her mind yet. She said she finally just about shut the door in his face to get rid of him. The following day her home was broke into through a back window and numerous items were taken. She seemed convinced the person had posed as an ADT rep and in fact was casing out her home. emoHoppingmad
These are just three I have been to recently. As I have said before, it is better to be pro-active then to wait, be a victem and do it after you take a hit. emoAngry An alarm is just like any other improvement to a home. It adds value to your home and if you ever sell it, add the price of the alarm to your asking price and get your money you paid back. Often as long as you did not over pay for the home this will work. In addition you can let your insurance company know you have an alarm system and you should be able to receive a discount of 10 to 15% on your home owners policy. Action Alarms can do anything the bigger companies do and we do it all locally. With local monitoring by local people where we own the monitoring center. I can offer discounts to our forum membership as well. If you are interested please just send me a PM or you are welcome to give me a call.(423-298-4348) If you have a current system from another company we often can take that system over and charge you less then they are so it saves you money.
Be safe and be aware of your surroundings. emoPolice Jmax
