Has anyone on here own or shot a Mossberg "Rifle" in a .308 caliber. I didn't think Mossberg made rifles but I talked with someone yesterday at a gun store and they said Mossberg started last year making a "youth" or ladies rifle. The price is unbeatable but I hate to spend that money even though it's a deal and can't get the gun to shoot consistently.

My buddy has one, a .243 I believe and from what I understand, its a good shooter. .308 is great caliber. If you're looking for a cheap small rifle check out the handi-rifles, they have many calibers available and most are under $200.00. I got a .25-06 and love it. Just a suggestion.

I just bought a Mossberg ATR100 bolt action 30-06. I went to walmart to buy the Weatherby Vangard but the Mossberg was 250 and made here in the USA. I haven't got a chance to shoot it yet but It fits me really well and there is good evidence of quality and craftsmanship with this gun. Recessed crown, free-floated barrel, matte black finish, synthetic stock, scope mounts already installed.
I had a budget and I was able to get a real nice Bushnell trophy scope for it and it really looks good. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

I will Churly. The Scope was 189.00 at Sportsmans warehouse it's even got an adjustment on the front of the scope that lets you focus automaticaly for whatever range you desire. I did not go over 500 dollars on what I got.
There were some scope and rifle combos at walmart and sportsmans but I felt that the scopes that came with them were just mediocre at best. I feel that what makes any gun a great gun is good optics so...since the Mossberg was only 250..I was able to put the extra money I had towards a good scope.
Hopefully I will have good things to report from the range tomorrow

I don't know about the mossberg in the 308 but I love the 308 cal. I have a Ruger and a remington and love the cal, I do have a Mossberg turkey gun and it is great.
