I've got a 85hp Force outboard on a 87 bayliner..fish and ski. The motor starts fine and it will run great on the first run; usually around 15 minutes. After fishing the first run; I'll start it again and try to accelerate; the motor will start to hesitate and bog down. I can hear the motor getting louder as I give it more throttle but the boat won't actually accelerate much and if it does it is herky jerky.

I find it strange that it only does this once the motor has had a good run...and is warmed up. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a reasonable mechanic. Thanks! emoScratch

It sounds as if you have a spun hub in the prop, get it changed out and try it again. You can't do this yourself, you will have to take it to a prop shop.

Talk to Bubbakat. My Johnson 200GT Venom was doing the same thing and he advised me to change the plugs and add a can of Seafoam to a tank of gas and run it. My motor has never run better and the bogging down only occurs after idling for a while. You can buy Seafoam at Advance Auto Parts.
