ok. thanks for the help on my last post. i think my cranking problems are behind me (hopefully). but now a new problem has presented itself. idle is fine but when i mash the hotfoot the boat spits and sputters. it only turns about 3000 rpm if i am lucky and seems to be doing a max 15mph. this a 1991 johnson 150GT. i feel like it should be going much faster. please help if possible. thanks

Do you have to mix the oil or do yu ahve the VRO? If you have the VRO and there is a problem with the oil sending unit, allot of times it will put it in a safe mode to help prevent harm to your engine. Wrenchin knows all he will chime in and get you down the roads

i mix my own. not real sure about the proper mixture either. i was told to mix 6gal of gas to 1 pint of oil by the previous owner. any input on that would be greatly appecated to.

That's right on the mix, have you pulled any plugs out to see if they're fould or not?
But yeah send up the Wrenchin' signal- he snuffs out engine injustice! emoPolice

pm Wrenchin' 2-see if he doesn't respond.

If you can't get him and want to take it to a fair mechanic try this guy at Hale's Bar-did me right in a hurry!

If slow is bein initiated then the alarm should be sounding if working. This can also be bypassed to test. Slow only allows for around 2500 RPM. Could be numerous things. Need to do some simple testing to verify all 6 are firing at the time of issue and to help narrow it down.. Could be electrical.
