Drum, my friend, you are a sinister and sick, sick man. Wanting to go fishing today? Surely you jest??? emoPoke

Nah, at least someone got to go fishing for a while today. Whoever ordered the hurricane for yesterday must have been pleased with the wind, cause it sure didn't show up today. Amazing how that happens. Free weekend for fishing, and hurricanes show up............go back to work, and the wind dies down. emoScratch

I have to remember the next time that I am on the Chick to bring my panfish pole. I want to get some of them Chick crappies. :)

Sounds like a fun trip with your better half. It's always good to get the ladies out on the water for a little R&R.emoThumbsup

Well, when you are retarded (retired) like me, you can sort of pick and choose when and where to fish. That is one benefit. My wife will only go with me when the sun is shining and it isn't very cold. I guess you noticed that she was dressed like an eskimo and it was 57 degrees out. I thought it was real nice. Of course, I fish when it is raining and 35 degrees too. (Told you I was retarded). I'm just looking for some fish to be caught. I have a big fishing trip planned for Friday. I've just gotta have some fish that day or else. emoBigsmile emoGeezer NWGA, someone has to work and supports us old geezers!emoBigsmile emoGeezer

I think that it's great that you two can get out there together and enjoy the day and then enjoy a great meal together too. Thanks for the info as always.

:) DK you and the Mrs. look like a pair made in heaven! I have to say .. she looks pretty good holding up that crappie for the camera!!! And her index finger didn't look too bad either!

It was a nice nice day yesterday .. and I'm hopeful that spring has sprung .. although I know there will probably be one more snap .. before Mr. Winter has retired for the year. Nonetheless, his days are numbered!

My favorite time of year is coming ... and so is the best dang fishing months in the whole year!!!

Good job hunting down those illusive crappie .. but from what I hear ... they really can't find a safe haven from you!

She caught 2 out of the 8 fish that we caught. She also caught the largest crappie. The last crappie that she caught was on a white tube and I had told her to count the jig down to 10 before starting to reel. The fish was on there when she started to reel and she didn't even know it. She must not watch the line very much. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

CONGRATULATIONS on getting Ms. Drumking out and catching a few. She shore does make the pictures look better.

Now don't criticize your spouse's superior technique there DK. She knew what she was doing, I can see it in her eyes.

You ought to see her in action. She is a better bluegill fisherwoman than I am. She really catches her share. Her only problem is that she doesn't want any of them released. A few years ago we had our freezer absolutely filled with fillets and it woudn't hold another fish. I took her bluegill/shellcracker fishing and told her that this trip was for fun. That we would release every fish. She grumbled a little about the prospect of having to turn them loose.

To make a long story short, she asked me after each fish that she caught if we should keep it. I told her that we didn't have any room for any more. She mumbled a little something that I couldn't make out. On her next fish she asked the same question and I said "Honey don't you get the joy out of catching and releasing these fish so that we can catch them again?" She said that the only joy that she got out of them was "listening to them splash in the livewell". I never have forgotten that. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
