Mrs. Drumking and Crappie fishing on Monday 3-26-07

Wanda didn't have to baby sit today, so I got her out for a round of crappie fishing. She did very good. Probably caught as many if not more than I did and she also caught the biggest 2 fish of the day. Some people have all the luck. emoBigsmile The fish are beginning to run smaller as the larger ones have probably been thinned out. We fished from 10:30 to around 2:15. We landed 31 keepers and 17 throwbacks, plus 1 golden shiner, several yellow bass and bluegills.

We caught most of the fish in Island Cove again today. Panfish stingers accounted for about 90% of the fish caught. It appeared that the females were dropping eggs today. We caught several that were spewing eggs and we could throw back to the same spot and catch her boyfriend. That happened a lot today.

Depending on the weather, I might go again tomorrow or I might rest for a day. This getting up early is getting to me. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Good job once again DK. I know Ms. Wanda had a good time. You must be getting your ministry inventory stocked up too.
You might however want to look into a regular knife though. Looks like you left a lot of meat on that crappie's bonesemoSmile

I'm working on the stockpile, Cheez. However we have so many meetings this year that I don't have enough fish yet and I will probably have to catch catfish to finish out what I need. We have back to back 3 day meetings in April, May, June, July. We don't know yet what the fall schedule looks like. We are gonna be busy.

When I'm tired like I was today and get in a hurry, I do lose a little of the belly flap. That doesn't bother me a whole lot. There's just not that much to lose there. emoGeezer

You certainly don't have to worry about Drumking violating the creel limits. Not gonna happen! Way to go Mr. & Mrs. Drumking!

Yes, I threw back one early in the count that just barely measured 10". I wanted to make sure that the ones that we kept were well over the 10" limit.

Goes on just about everything that squeaks. Mainly put it on my fishing line to tame memory and increase casting distance. Works like a charm. I do spray it on catfish baits in the summer time.
