Got out yesterday after work with Alvin and Jack to chase some crappie. Got on the water around 5:30 with a nice storm brewing in the west. Hit a deep water dock and start catching fish right off but after about 30 minutes the storm chased us up river. Rode up about 1/2 mile and watched it come a flood back at the dock we were fishing. Could not ever see the dock, justa wall of white/grey rain. The storm kept moving toward us so we ran another 1/2 mile up river.

Fished a deep water dock there and boated a few. After about 30 minutes I felt a cool breeze from the north. Turned to see another storm coming right at us with a wall of rain. The first storm had moved on so back down river we ran.

We fished until dark and the last hour was WIDE open. We boated 87 crappie with 28 keepers and half of them came in the last hour off two docks. I got a really nice 14.25" TARP and had another one just under 13 inches. Got to see a Raccoon and a rainbow while fishing.

Fish were very neutral the first 3 hours of the trip but once the storms moved off the last hour was on fire. We used 1/32 oz lead with anything with chartuse on it. Fish were anywhere from just under the surface (you would have a hit before you could flip the bail over) down to around 10-12 feet. We also got 9 bluegill, 4 white stripe that came off docks????, 2 very small largemouth and a channel cat. 103 fish boated in 4 hours. Not too bad. Main river water temp was around 80 degrees. We caught fish everywhere we went, from docks, bluffs, deep water banks, brush, laydowns, etc. Crappie seem tobe everywhere.
