Got outfor the 3rd straight day todaywith Eric and his son. Eric used to work with me years ago and just got into fishing last fall. I promised him a trip when the fishing got good and today was the day.

We started off fishing an area I never fish in the morning and glad we did. Started off killing fish on topwater and pig n jigs. I let Eric fish topwater and I threw the P&J. His son sort of fished but it worked out better to let him reel them in. The fish were hammering the torpedo so much so I started shooting some videoas they were getting very predictable. Got a great video of Eric catching our big fish of the day, a 3.85 river largemougth. You can watcht the video on the link below:

Ater killing the bass Eric want to learn drop shotting for cats. So we rigged up and headed to the bridge pillings. Got a few but they were pretty slow. Got 5 blues, 5 channels and a nice 10 lb flathead. I did have a 15-20 lb blue break off at the boat as Eric was trying to get him in the grippers. Eric also got 2 gar on the drop shot, a first for me.

We ended the day at 11:30 and for our 4 hours of effort we boated 18 spots, 5 largemouth (4 of them 3 lbs or better), 5 blue cats, 5 channel cats, 1 flathead, 2 gar, 12 google eyes. I know for sure we hooked and lost another 15-20 bass. Not a bad morning, 45 fish boated in 4 hours. Water temp was 68 degrees.
