Mom was off today so we decided to go fishing. Thought about chasing crappie on the lake but went to the Riverpark, which from the reports I saw was the right choice.

Got on the water around 8:30 and fished the usual "secret" holes. Started off slow but we found some fish willing to play today.Found a few areas that produced numbers and I think we have a small spawn going on, not many, but a few. Threw pig n jigs mostly fishing the banks. Tried for my spring time smallies and got one niceone around 3.5-4 lbs on atube. The spots were pretty shallow today and a lot of times they were on the bait as soon as you picked it up from casting.

For our 4 hours we boated 22 spots (had4 around 2 lbs a piece), 12 rock bass (lots of 9 inchers and I got one at 9.75"), 1 small largemouth and the 3.5lbsmallie. Water temp wasthe same as last weekend, around 61 F. We lost a lot of fish today as well. Probably hooked and lost another 10-15 spots that we saw and missed a whole lot more.

Good times with mom.
