My parents and I hit the Riverpark today at 7 and headed down to my pets at the bend. Dad did not get to come last week due to his knee so I was determined to put him on some topwater fish. We started on one of my favorite topwater banks but it looked like the water level had dropped about 2 feet and the fish were not having it. We struggled on that bank but even so my dad got two keeper largemouths and a few spots on the torpedo (his favorite luer) and my mom got a few spots on the pig n jig. I got one short LM on a tube, a bluegill on a crappie jig, and a pumpkin seed type sunfish on a jigging spoon. It was time for a move.

We headed to one of our other good topwater banks that usually always has little fish on it. Right off the bat we start catching fish. My dad got two more keeper largemouths on the torpedo and I got a keeper LM on a crank bait. My mom got a small smallmouth/meanmouth (was sure it was a smallie on the water but the pic looks like a meanmouth) and she got a nice 2.25 lb smallie that came 3 feet out of the water after hookset. We thought it was a 4 lber the way it jumped. Still a very nice smallie. I got my first jigging spoon bass of the year and lost one around 2 lbs on the spoon. Getting close.

Hit downtown and got a few more spots and a few google eyes. Left a 11 to grab some Arby's.

Totals:

Dad (all fish on torpedo)

4 keeper largemouth

23 spots

Mom (all fish on pig n jig)

12 spots

2 smallies

2 google eyes

Me

3 largemouth (1 keeper)

7 spots

1 google eye

1 bluegill

1 pumpkin seed type sunfish

For my defense I did take fish off all morning long. 51 bass boated in 4 hours is not too bad. We probably stuck and lost another 15 or so with my mom sticking a losing most of them. Just would not stay buttoned on the pig n jig for some reason. Water temp was 74-75 degrees. All fish were caught on rip rap except a couple of fish off the bridges.

PS You can tell where I get my good look hat genes from.

Forgot to mention, my dad caught the biggest, the most, and the smallest. emoLaugh
