19 June 2014 Lake Guntersville – Jon and Jeremy from Birmingham AL. joined me yesterday for some early season grass flipping and frog action. We started out early in the lily pads with hollow body frogs where we caught a few than we picked up the flipping sticks moved out to the milfoil which is starting to top out. We used ¾ ounce STC Tungsten and super bug D-Bombs from Missile baits to put a whole bunch of fish in the boat. Water temperatures range from 81-85 degrees on the main lake/channel. It’s time to get your dates reserved for the early season frog action. With that said there is a couple of great frog tournaments coming up soon; New this year is the King Frog Bass Tour on July 26, August 30, September 27 with a two day Championship on 11 & 12 Oct 2014 out of Goose Pond, rules and entry forms can be found at www.kingfrogbassseries.com or call Gene Brooks at 423-645-3547. The 10th Annual Snag Proof tournament is scheduled for August 9th 2014, POC is Jamie Shay at Goose Pond Bait Tackle and Grill. I have days and professional guides available; make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville or Tim’s Ford with full time Professional USCG Licensed and Insured guides. We supply all fishing gear including Duckett Fishing Rods, LEW’s reels; Top quality lures such as Rapala Lures, Missile Baits, Tightline Jigs and Vicious Line.
