July 5, 2014 Lake Guntersville – This past week has been up and down for us, but everyone still managed to catch fish and have a good time on the lake. For the most part sometime during the day you can really smash them, the rest of the time you have to really work for them and make every bite count. The best advice is to slow down presentations and be ready to change tactics throughout the day. I say that because we caught fish in every depth of water this week from 3 to 30 feet. When there is water moving you can catch them on deep diving crank baits and Swimbaits, there is several places where bass are schooling and if you are there when it happens you can catch them on top. The most reliable bite for us has been flipping with a ¾ ounce Tungsten and D-Bomb. We are still catching fish in the lily pads and scattered Milfoil with hollow body frogs off and on during the day. Keep a Pop-R handy and you can run the numbers up fast if you can find some of the schooling fish running the main channel. Water temperatures range from 84-86 degrees on the main lake/channel. It’s time to get your dates reserved for the early season frog and flipping/punching action. The 10th Annual Snag Proof tournament is scheduled for August 9th 2014, POC is Jamie Shay at Goose Pond Bait Tackle and Grill. I have days and professional guides available; make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville or Tim’s Ford with full time Professional USCG Licensed and Insured guides. We supply all fishing gear including Duckett Fishing Rods, LEW’s reels; Top quality lures such as Rapala Lures, Missile Baits, Tightline Jigs and Vicious Line. We offer a Military Discount and the dedication to making your trip successful. “Let’s go fish’ in”
