I just returned from a two and a half day trip and enjoyed the trip and filed a fishing report on my results Thursday which was a good day with 27 fish. I fished up the river and have a question if it is not of out line to ask....there are several pockets and mud flats,but they seem very flat and shallow and not much structure some grass here and there . So will the fish spawn in those mud flats hundreds of yards off the main channel?
Or are their certain pockets and sloughs that have a deeper ditch somewhere and some firmer bottom that is only learned by putting in a lot of time on the water? There were places I trimmed up the big motor and held up the trolling motor with the handle to drag myself out of some areas only to have a boat on pad go by me further up the slough..lol. I know a boat runs more shallow on pad but I can't find the nerve to do that and it seemed my unit said "unmapped area" on most
