Pretty Cohutta buck GF. How far did you have to drag him in those mountains? That's a rough place to hunt right there.

well,it was about 8:50 on sunday morning, been setting there since before daylight swaying back and forth in my stand, wind was blowing atleast 25 miles an hour. All of a sudden he comes barreling over the top of the ridge above me running straight at me.Dont know what he was running from and wasnt sure he was gonna stop,so when he got almost under my stand i threw up the win 270 and shot, now, here comes the awful twist of fate to the story. When i shot he was almost directly under me,i shot the left side antler completely of about 1 inch and a half above his skullemoBang ,the antler fell on the ground at the tree i was in,the deer stumbled bout 20 more yards past the tree and stopped and looked around then thats when i shot him through the lungs.Everybody, including the game warden, told me not to worry bout it to much, the taxidermist can fix it and ya will never be able to tell it,i was thrilled to death that i got the deer,on the other hand i was disgusted bout the antler,Hopefully it can be fixed,it didnt shatter so may it can be.Oh yea,i forgot to mention about seeing a deer that was bigger than this one just 2 days before,he was walking right up the middle of the road just on the other side of the ridge from where i shot this one.Dont know if that is what my deer was running from or what, never seen a second deer though

So that's why you are holding the left side in all the pics.emoBigsmile Great story and at least you were still able to put him on the ground! Hopefully they will be able to fix it easily. Congrats again on a great buck!emoThumbsup
