A crappie fishing trip for a few hours Saturday. It's my birthday so fishing is pretty much required. emoParty emoGeezer My fishing and reports have slowed down this year due to elbow and shoulder problems. I just got a cortisone shot in my left elbow and one in my right shoulder a week and a half ago and so far I'm fishing without much pain for the first time in months. I guess I'm just getting old and another year older today - oh great ! I'm hoping these shots do the trick and I can catch up on some bass fishing that I've put on hold this year.
The lake was crowded with boats and we missed the morning bite but still managed 21 black crappie and 5 white crappie. Almost all of our crappie were keeper size in the 10.5 - 11 inch range with a 12 inch here and there. All were released. I don't really feel like cleaning fish on my birthday. We caught most of our fish in 14-20 feet and I could see many suspended on my fishfinder. We used 3 poles and mostly vertical fished.
