Sorry to post late fishing reports. I've been so dang busy ! I do have one from today though.

3/23/16...We got a late start around 1:00 pm. The winds were almost dangerous that day so we stayed tucked away in a slough. The bite was pretty good and we caught a few more white crappie than black that day. I guess it was our location ? The black crappie were some dark males that are showing up more and more now. Debbie caught a bucket-mouth white crappie within five minutes of fishing. Crappie Dawgs and Panfish Assassins on 1/16th and 1/32 oz. Road Runner jig heads. All fish were released.

3/26/16... A solo trip for me. The bite was great and I caught seven species of fish. The stump pattern in shallow water. The fish seemed to prefer light colored jigs instead of very bright. I didn't count but probably around 25 crappie and all black crappie. Crappie Dawgs and Panfish Assassins on 1/32 oz. jig heads. I kept a few for the freezer and released a couple of large females with eggs.

3/27/16... A short trip today produced 31 crappie including a "magnum" warmouth for Debbie. It was a little over 9.25 inches and heavy. It's her personal best and the largest I've ever seen. Crappie Dawgs - Panfish Assassins - Bobby Garland jigs on 1/32 oz. jig heads. All fish were released.

Life is good. emoThumbsup

Good report, Thanks! We've caught several big war mouths lately but the one Deb is holding is a "hoss". To me, they are one of the prettiest fish we have and they fight as well as any for their size.

We really enjoy catching them also. We look forward to when the water warms to around 65 degrees and when it touches about 70 they seem to be at their peak. It's a fun two-three weeks where we catch them pretty good and then they get harder to find again. Deb's looks like it had just swallowed another warmouth.
