Just wanted to make a post with pictures of my new Boat. I had a 2002 Stratos 21xl magnum with 250 mercuryxb that I had before. It drank too much gas. I have bought a 2007 Triton 197magnum aluminum boat. It has a 200 mercury optimax, motorguide 109lb. thrust, 4 bank charger, and 2 Lowrance 332c. I love the boat. I tend to be a little destructive, so this boat is good for me. It is a little easier to take care of. Here are some pictures of my old and new boat.

wow thats a good price for that boat with a 200 did u buy it used..I am saving for a new aluminum boat and something like u got would be sweet

This is my second aluminum boat the first was a duracraft 19ft with 150 vmax. I liked it,but it was really ugly. I reccommend Triton or Xpress. Xpresses are really nice. Triton does not make one this big anymore, so if you are looking for one this size or bigger you will hae to buy usedlike I did or look at an zpress. They make the xpress in lenghths up to 22ft rated for 300 hp. They are the ranger of aluminum, but you will pay for it. Thy had a 21 ft. with 225 etec at C and O marine in White Bluff TN. for 23. This price was too rich for my blood, but it was about 10 less than anywhere else.

Sweet. Have you opened it up and GPS'd your speed yet?

I have got 72 so far. Still tinkering with jackplate. Might even try to go with a lesser pitch on the prop. I am running a 25 tempest right now. The rpms are not very high.

26 prop would probably do it. Thats a great speed for that boat. Ride good?</p>

I thought about going up a degree, but wouldn't that make me lose rpms? It rides great. It comes out of the hole like a rocket.

Bustin, that is one purty ride! Let us know how much better fuel economy you get with the 200 OptiMax- I hear they are better that way and you should get a good feel for it being the same HP. Of course I reckon the aluminum boat is somewhat lighter, and that will help.

You need to get those CFF stickers on there pronto. I have found that the more stickers I add the bigger the fish I catch! Bass LOVE CFFers! emoLaugh

The Stratos I had was a 250xb it was like dumping a drum of gas in the lake everytime I went. I could literaly watch the gas gauge drop, but it was fast. I can fish all day now on $10 worth of gas. The xb cost me about$40-50, sounded like a dragcar, and I would be out of gas when I left the lake. I love the optimax, it is quiet and really good on gas.
