Well, it wasn't a huge one but I got my very first this weekend. 5pts.

Had the awesome opportunity to spend Friday morning thru Saturday morning with CFF's Doghouse out in Lincoln county. Man, I can see why they have those regulations out there! That county is LOADED! I just stopped counting deer all together.

Jerry (Doghouse) his Dad and his uncle Larry all went. I met up with Jerry around 4am and drove up only having maybe less than 2 hours of sleep. Lots of coffee on that drive! Got to the property where I didn't think my F150 was gonna get through all the mud but did alright. Never got stuck! Got dressed and rode in style on a Kawasaki Mule! Man those are SWEET! Jerry walked me to a tree and I got settled in.

I guess about 9:45, I was thinking I hadn't heard any gobblers around and immediately caught a glimpse of a shadow. Man those deer are sneaky things! I very slowly turned my head and seen my first buck close enough to take. TALK ABOUT THE SHAKES! Thought I'd never get that gun up and ready...LOL. As soon as his head went around a tree I got it in place....I wait until he walked right into the cleanest firing lane and let it fly. 10 feet later, it was down. Then it really hit me! I tried to calm down a bit and reload only to drop all my sabots 25 feet to the ground! Yea, I didn't get a rifle permit...I'm still LOVING this black powder!!! So I climbed down about 30 minutes later and checked it out. I figured it was a 4 but the game warden (that was at camp waiting on us) labeled it a 5. He was right. I wasn't sure at first...Still trying to gather myself. Jerry met up with me and off to camp to dress and hang.

That evening I took a Doe for one of my employees at work. His wife has been laid off for some time and I offered him the deer. Gladly took it.

Next morning I let 2 good does walk thinking just maybe I would see a buck come in...Never happened. I had some smallerdoes come in around 10 and took one for our purchase agent at work. He made me promise to get him one. It was a lot smaller though but he'll get over it. Ha!

Jerry's dad took 2 does and a 7 pointer. His uncle got a doe Saturday morning and Jerry nailed a sweet looking 10pt Saturday night. Most this meat goes to those without or just don't hunt. Either way...Its all good!

I just have to add...My Mom, who I love very much, has some BIG ISSUES with me hunting and murdering these animals. She was texting the living hell out of me while i was in that stand. Fluke and Spurhunter know what I'm talking about! She text a prayer she sent up and thanked God for answering it. Once again, I hope she heard him! My very first weekend I took 3 does in Hamilton county. and i took 1 buck, 2 Does in Lincoln. Each time she was texting me her thoughts and beliefs. Guess she's my good luck charm! I wish she hated my fishing as much! LMAO!

I cant thank Jerry and his family enough to allowing me to hang out with them. Seeing a tight hunting family together really makes me hurt a bit inside knowing that all I have is good friends to hang with. My family doesn't really care for the things I do I guess.

Came home early being the processor is full. Skinned and qtr'd out 3 deer. One I'll process myself the other 2 will go to Winders as soon as hes ready. Teddy and I are going to do my first European mount and I'll be doing Jerry's buck for him.

Life is good and my friends are great! Thank You All!!!
