I spent the afternoon in my snow covered house. Saw several small does right at dark. Was waiting on a big doe or buck. Maybe the stand will pay off tomorrow.

Does your house have a heater? It is going to be cold in there today. ;) I like your house, needs to be a little higher but nice. emoThumbsup Jmax

I have used a heater in it before but it has to get really cold before I will use it. Height is perfect for where it is at. Any taller and you can't see as much. It sets at the bottom of a ridge so any more height would limit the view. I built it where the afternoon air sinks off the ridge and carries all the scent away from the deer trails. While scouting out the spot to build it I climbed trees with my tree stand and found out where the perfect height was to see up the ridge in all directions. It turned out that my eyes needed to be about 9 feet off the ground to have the perfect view. It has worked well so far. Between me and my son we have killed 24 deer out of that shooting house since 2003.
