I made my uncle and dad a calendar of our summer adventures in fishing on Monteagle Mountain. I thought I would share my cover collage. In the center is the snake I caught and had to rescue my lure. I had such a great summer, not a lot of big fish but a great way to pass time.

Thanks Guys, I am looking forward to the spring and catching some BIG fish! Thanks to the forum for all the tips! A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of working.

to the best of my knowledge it is a kind of water moccasin... I saw some action in the water and threw my lure over, it snagged the side of the snake and the snake started rolling under water and without knowing it was a snake, I thought I had a big fish... Snakes are pretty common near where we were fishing as the road to get to there is called Snake Pond Road.

Great pics. Speaking of snakes, I caught one on a 9" blue plastic worm in Orange Lake Florida in 1971. It had swallowed the worm almost instantly and I hooked it in the lip. Scared my partner to death with that catch. It was about 4' long.

Catching fish is fun, catching snakes not so much... but I did get the longest catch award too bad it wasn't a fish... emoDoh
