2 Reports:
Yestd. I fished Chick. out of CFP for a few hours before the rain started. Caught 4 largemouth keepers on blades and Labman's secret lure at the CFF hotspot, best was probably 3.5-4 lbs. The fish with blood on it got a hook in its gill, but was fine after a couple of hours in the livewell. Also caught 2 blues, one of Drumking's pets, a nice crappie and a yellow bass. Hunted for stripers in a few spots but never got the gulls working good except in one spot where nothing would take my lures. Pleasure to meet Cast4Bass and his son. All fish released.
Today, Pete Jr. and I knew we were in for a tough time out of Riverpark as TVA closed the last gate when we got there reducing the flow from 69K cfs down to 47K cfs and dropping the river level significantly. We only caught 2 smallies, one of which was a nice keeper at 4 lbs., 19 in. Also caught several drum, probably a total of 20-25 lbs. or so (which Pete Jr. took to a co-worker who likes them), a nice white bass and a blue cat. The surface temp was 50. The water coming out of North and South Chick. crks. was muddy. Thanks for taking me, son, and putting me on a nice smallie! We released the smallies and the cat.
A MERRY CHRISTMAS to all !!!!!!!
