I ordered and recieved the Navionics HotMaps Explorer and downloaded the Chickamauga Hi-Def map. I havent's done a lot of exploring yet, but the Sequoyah nuke area is BAD wrong. No discharge hump at all and the rock weir upstream shows partly across the river. It doen't show the old streambeds in the area either. I am truly disappointed! Do the maps on the Humminbird, etc., show the correct detail?

After looking carefully at the Chick map, it is really quite good except for the discharge area. I wonder - could it be that because of 9/11 the nuke detail was deleted? The area directly in front of the dam is also missing. A possibility I guess.......

That's too bad about the maps Eric. I would expect that you should make your own hotspots overlay for the maps. Can you add GPS waypoints and other details to those maps? I always wondered how those maps were made and if they would be very accurate.

Polo, it seems they (the new hi-def maps) are very accurate. They give river channel detail not found on the old maps, as well as the normal shallow details. You can add GPS waypoints and transfer waypoint info between the program and your GPS (not the maps, just the waypoints and routes), so it's really quite useful. You can also print the maps, or the sections you want, blown up to show the detail.

Dropshot, the closest place I found was Lake Maps in Knoxville - I ordered on the internet.

I'm with eric m I ordered off the internet. Eric, I"m having trouble gettign the high def map, did you have any torubles with this?
