The water was still good and cold Saturday and it kept things shut down for several of the anglers. We had nine adults and seven juniors in fish and only four adults and one junior turned in fish.
Monteagle's Gene Cantrell took first for the adults with three fish weighing 3.57 for $242. Jasper's Josh Watts was second with two fish for 3.13 and $100. Winchester's Rick Sanson had big fish with a 2.31 for $45.
On the Junior side Dakota Cantrell caught one keeper 15 minutes before weigh in to take first. That 1.31 fish made him $52 for first place and $35 for big fish. Not bad off a $20 entry fee. Logan Stewart got second place money off a drawing.
It was a good turnout for the first tourney of the season and a cold morning. We hope to see a larger group on Nickajack March 6.
David.
